Thank you to those of you who were able to attend our first outreach event Moving Beyond Cancer to Wellness on June 23. This free event featured keynote speakers Doug Ulman, cancer survivor and president of the Lance Armstrong Foundation, and Bob Keisendahl, recipient of the Lance Armstrong Foundation's 2006 LIVESTRONG™ award, as well as breakout sessions led by experts in the fields of nutrition, complementary/alternative medicine, physical therapy, fatigue/pain, relationships/sexuality, employment issues, insurance rights, survivorship research, cancer genetics, emotional adaptation and cognitive function/memory.
The event was attended by more than 260 individuals affected by cancer. The post-event evaluations reflected overwhelmingly positive impressions; requests and comments will be considered in planning future events. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center Survivorship Program presented an educational event for cancer survivors on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at the Hutchinson Center campus.
