Patient Program

Pediatric patients receive individualized instruction from their Hutch School teachers and are welcome in the Family Member Program with the approval of their doctors. Hutch School teachers see patients before and after their hospital stays, oversee each student's program, maintain primary contact with their home schools, and send grades and/or reports when patients return home.

While receiving care at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance pediatric inpatient unit at Children's Hospital, patients are tutored by our colleagues there. Hutch School teachers maintain close contact with the Children's teachers and visit our students in the hospital on a regular basis.

As outpatients, students are usually taught at the Hutch School, although we can possibly meet them in other locations, if that proves more convenient.

The goal for patients is to keep them as current with their academics as possible, as well as keep them actively learning new things.
