A Word from Dawn Biography "I joined the Big Expedition because I am intrigued by the challenge. It is exciting to go to a place where no one has climbed before. It will be awesome to test our knowledge and abilities in such a tremendous arena. To be selected for such an expedition is an amazing opportunity. The thrill of adventure is also a big part of my motivation. "The challenge of the unclimbed mountain means a plunge into the unknown - putting aside fears and doubts and focusing on the task at hand. When the expedition begins we will be striving toward a common goal. I have to put my trust into the team and move together toward this goal as a strong and competent team player. This climb will not be an easy task, but I am looking forward to what lies ahead. "The challenge of eliminating cancer is like mountaineering in that both are never ending endeavors. One can dedicate their entire life to the cause, and never reach completion. There will always be another objective waiting, another mountain to climb. Some challenges may be easy and some may be almost impossible. Each objective will have its own challenges and rewards." Dawn occasionally posts on the The Alpine Institute Blog. |
